**SOLD OUT**Sam from @alittlevictory and I are bringing back our popular PIECE patchwork quilting workshop - but this time we will be making circular cushions!

The workshop runs from 10am-5pm on Saturday, 4th February 2023.

During the day you will be provided with tea/coffee and a delicious vegetarian lunch.

The cost for the day, to include all materials, lunch and refreshments is £145.

PIECE will be taught at Sandy Shore Broadstairs, Kent, the stunning Art Deco home and Airbnb of Sam Goldbrom, @alittlevictory & @sandyshorebroadstairs.

During this one-day workshop, under the skilled and watchful eye of your tutor Elizabeth Cake, you will learn how to create a beautiful, quilted circular cushion cover using machine and hand stitching techniques. You will be provided with a wide variety of vintage, pre-loved and found fabrics to select from and all the other tools and materials necessary to make a striking accessory for your home.

It is our intention that you will meet like-minded, crafty and curious folk with a passion for making. We want to provide you with a relaxed and fun day of stitching so that you will leave PIECE with a finished patchwork cushion and all the necessary skills to continue quilting at home.

You will need basic sewing machine skills as you will be using a sewing machine for straight stitching.

Your tutor Elizabeth will help you select the perfect combination of fabrics and colours to start you on your quilting journey. Both Elizabeth and Sam are avid collectors of vintage fabrics and haberdashery, so you will be spoilt for choice. You will make both half square triangle blocks and select from a huge range of cut squares, piecing them together to form the basis of your cushion cover.

You will then learn to layer your patchwork quilt top with batting, pin baste and hand quilt in your chosen design. Once this is complete, you will be shown how to back and hand bind your cushion in your chosen colour to finish.

I've taught sewing skills in all sorts of places, including London's V&A, (twice), the upcycling tent at the Vintage at Goodwood Festival and Selfridges on Oxford Street.
