Circular collar top

Short-sleeved top made from found offcuts of checked linen and cottons and a round floral linen 1930s table mat forming the collar.

I'd often mulled over how I could use the beautiful round table mats I found, as borders are often the loveliest part of any table linen and the shape did not fit in with my pattern pieces. Then I had the idea of a round collar, and here we are!

The simple top has no fastenings as the neck is wide enough to pop over the head. It has a curved hem which is a little lower at the back, and contrast binding round the neckline and hem.

As ever, this one-of-a-kind item was lovingly made by me entirely from not-new materials.
