Nasturtiums recycled tablecloth top
Nasturtiums recycled tablecloth top
Pretty collarless blouse hand made from a beautifully soft reclaimed 1930s linen tablecloth adorned with appliqué and embroidered nasturtiums in red, orange, peach and green.
I scattered the flowers and leaves across the yoke, front and pocket, with a few on the back, and retained the decorative brown stitched edging along the front, centre back and left sleeve.
The tablecloth is combined with a slightly lighter weight linen reclaimed from an antique embroidered pillowcase, bearing the name tag Ruby Eileen Key, which I've kept on the right sleeve.
Other unique details include an area of visible(ish) mending on the back (final image) to reinforce an area where I'd unpicked some original stitching when reworking the linen.
As always, this one-of-a-kind piece was lovingly handmade by me from 100% not-new materials, including the shell buttons and thread.
