Recycled appliqué vintage patchwork shirt

Shirt cut from a large found calico cushion cover that was adorned with vintage hand appliqué Dresden plate patchwork blocks.

The patchwork looks pretty old, I'm guessing 1930s. The patches are mostly cotton, perhaps even feedsack, a few are man made - could be rayon. There are some really great prints in there and the blocks have all been hand stitched onto the calico.

The shirt has a top button loop, vintage pale blue ricrac around the sleeves, cute rounded collar, found shell buttons and red binding on part of the hem.

As ever, this one-off item was lovingly hand made from 100% not-new, reclaimed, found materials, even the thread!
