Reclaimed tablecloth side-button smock top

As soon as I saw this vintage checked tablecloth in excellent shades of brick red and bright blue, kindly given to me by a friend, I envisaged a side-button top. 

A variation on my M-L shirt pattern, with no collar, the buttons moved to the shoulder and an additional front patch pocket, this smock-y-style top is lovely on it's own and would also be great worn over a roll-neck in the cooler weather.

As ever, this one-off piece was lovingly made by me entirely from not-new materials - including the buttons and thread!
