Two ladies recycled pillowcase shirt

I could hardly believe it when I found a pair of unused vintage pillowcases appliquéd with these two ladies kicking up their heels.

Their plaits are not sewn down, so they flick up in different directions and move about, and their green trousers and red shoes are just gorgeous.

The green borders on the shirt came from the original pillowcases and just needed repositioning to run along the hems and up the button stand, and I found some complementary table linen in my stash with more borders and appliqué flowers which I used to complete the shirt.

As ever, this one-off piece was lovingly made by me entirely from not-new materials.
